Acclaimed actor and musician Folake Olowofoyeku, best known for her starring role as Abishola on the hit CBS sitcom Bob Hearts Abishola, is set to lend her voice to the upcoming audiobook of Firstborn of the Sun — a richly imagined fantasy novel by Marvellous Michael Anson.

The audiobook, now available, is co-narrated by Adjoa Andoh, celebrated globally for her role as Lady Danbury in Netflix’s Bridgerton universe. Together, Olowofoyeku and Andoh bring to life Anson’s world of myth, destiny, and divine power in a groundbreaking collaboration that unites two of the most dynamic voices of African and British storytelling.

“It’s an honor to help bring Firstborn of the Sun to life,” said Olowofoyeku. “The story is lush and layered, and narrating alongside Adjoa Andoh makes the experience even more special. There’s something powerful about African stories being told in our voices — it feels like a homecoming.”

The audiobook release follows the success of the Firstborn of the Sun print edition, which has been praised for its evocative prose and cultural depth. The production promises a truly cinematic audio experience, combining storytelling excellence with stellar performances from two commanding narrators.

The Firstborn of the Sun audiobook are NOW AVAILABLE ON AUDIBLE.
